of library literacy, research methods andtechnological literacy.” similarly, the american library associationand it’s association of college and research libraries (acrl) has defined information competencyas “a set of abilities requiring individuals to "recognize when information is needed andhave the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information,”also noting that “information literacy also is increasingly important in the contemporaryenvironment of rapid technological change and proliferating information resources.” today, the american association of communitycolleges calls on libraries and librarians directly. librarians are professionals thathave earned masters degrees in the science
