fountains and doesn't want anyone to play in them. but this one, is a different story....we stepped in and tested this water...while kids played around us... "it's designed to be used."

mike wiley is with meridian management. the company is contracted to manage the courthouses and plaza properties...which includes the fountains. "they encourage people to come down

here and use these fountains." we went along for their daily monitoring... you probably never realized there was a hole here... the fountains are filtered and treated much like a pool...and

wiley says they are just about as clean as a pool. "it just feels like water. like a shower, except really cold." back to the pools-- when they say they monitor about 400

pools-- that's apartment complexes, hotels, city pools and all indoor pools. they do two full inspections twice a year and then monthly checks to

make sure all the levels are right. question: so they shut down on average a few pools a week? answer: yes and it's usually not city pools, and that's

because they usually test city pools daily because a lifeguard is there... it's the other pools where levels can get out of whack easily... miranda, thank
