Things To Do In North Myrtle Beach

hey everyone, dr ray marquez here your localchiropractor at back pain relief center. today is april 17 and this is our monday editionof dr ray tv. today i'd like to talk to everyone a littlebit about chronic pain disorders. there's quite a few problems out there whichis too bad to hear, but things like degenerative joint disease, something i see all the time.

Things To Do In North Myrtle Beach

Things To Do In North Myrtle Beach, fibromyalgia, i'm seeing it more and moreas time goes by. things like lupus, as, rheumatoid arthritis, there's a lot of things out there that can really wear you out and begin to make yourlife miserable. let's talk about managing them a little bittoday.

number one, if you have one of these and especiallyone i'm familiar with a lot is fibro and degenerative joint disease, they are very, very difficultto manage. it can be a very frustrating for the patientsand many times these things go on and on for extended periods of time, the patient reallydoesn't get the answers that they want and all they're trying to do is feel better andthey are just having a difficult time getting there. first thing you have to realize when you findout you have something like this, it becomes a management issue. what i mean by that many times we just don'thave a great answer for you and they are not

100% curable. especially when we talk about like as, spondilitis, rheumatoid and things like that, they are blood born problems that there's not reallya cure for but there is managment therapy and things like that to help manage it. what you need to do is many times find a goodteam of doctors to help you to get to the point that is acceptable for you, meaningthat you want to try to get to a point where you can at least function and feel a littlebetter from day to day without your pain being a constant worry on the back of your mind. real important to find a group of doctors.

so one thing a lot of times many patientssay it's like rheumatoid or as or something like that, they go to the rheumatologist whichis the person to go to but they only see one doctor, they only see one set of eyes on thembut many times there's many things that other practitioners can help with to help you toget to that better spot. sometimes just medicine alone isn't the answerand if you have it you probably know that even with our fibro patients they put themon lyrica or some other things and it really gets them better but not 100% so you haveto look at different ways to approach it. so i'm always big on getting a team of doctorsto help patients manage their pain and it's just that management.

what do i mean by team of doctors? maybe you're seeing your rheumatologist andthat's one doctor. maybe you're seeing a chiropractor, maybeyou're seeing a physical therapist, maybe you're seeing a pain management doctor, maybeyou're seeing your primary once a month, so you have to find what works well for you becauseeverybody's body is different and everyone responds to other things. me being a chiropractor of course i'm goingto think i can do the best for everyone but i know that that's not always possible, iam going to provide one aspect of care for the patient i think that helps a lot but i'munder no illusion that it's going to cure

things. let's get right to that part, i'm not a chiropractorwho says hey yeah, i'm going to cure as, i'm going to cure fibro, by no means, but i amgoing to help you manage it. and help you function and feel better becausei do believe that every single person out there no matter what they have has the abilityto improve even if it's on a small scale up to a large scale. everyone can improve. back to some of these things, i do think someof these disorders do warrant proper medication things that are right for you.

and that's really where you're going to getyour specialist, whether it's your primary, rheumatologist, orthopedic, pain managementdoctor, find out what works for your chemistry, what works for your body and helps you getto a lower less of a pain level. i do believe in bringing in chiropractic careto help the body function better so let's just take as for example. so ankylosing spondylitis is a degenerativedisorder that attacks the spine and the pelvis and the joints and the hips, and it actuallyfuses them together so it's a process that you want to slow down as much as possible. and how would chiropractic care help that?

my job there in conjunction with your rheumatologist, would be to try to loosen the muscle tone up of all your muscles. try to get less compressions to the jointin your spine and in your extremities. so less pressure on them so they functionbetter, they don't adhese as quickly, they don't build up enough fibrous tissue buildup or collegan or the muscles, so we keep a range of motion working. we stop the compression because many timeswith these disorders, with as, along with the disorder itself, the joint starts to degenerateat a faster speed. they put pressure on the disc, on the nerves, and then we add in this other component of

a spinal disorder. my job would be to help manage the pain inallow the joints to function the way they were supposed to. to decrease compression, increase range ofmotion, increase function and decrease inflammation. all this to help you just to move around alittle better and if my patients are having these disorders we don't put them on theselong term treatments plans. they come on in as much as they want and asmuch as it makes them feel better. and some people will come see me two to threetimes a week, some people will see me once every 6 weeks.

whatever works well for you because chiropractictreatment can decrease the muscle tone, decrease the compression on the joints, increase therange of motion, get you to function and feel better and it can be one aspect of the managementpain process. again, always follow the directions of yourspecialist, whoever's in managing your primary pain. there's many different kinds of conservativetreatment out there, this meaning chiropractic, you know, we're not cutting you, we're notdoing surgery on you, we're helping you function naturally for that matter. chiropractic care.

there's procedures that we do called manipulationunder anesthesia. many times that helps patients function andfeel better to a greater level when they have one of these chronic disorders. there's things out there called whole bodycryotherapy which i've been reading a lot lately, where they immerse your whole bodyin this cold tank and it decreases your body temperature and it helps decrease inflammation,it helps cell repairs and all good thing i hear about it. infra red sauna i hear a lot of good stuffabout it. a lot of research out there where you're sittingin a sauna and it heats your whole body up

and uses infra red light and it gets yourbody to heal faster and feel better. i'm a big fan of that, i have a couple offriends that have them and i use it whenever i get the chance. you know, always a fan of physical therapyget that body to decrease tone, get the body to work correctly, strengthen your core. a lot of good things that physical therapistscan add to it. something like acupuncture, i've never hadit done personally myself, but it's been around for a long time, longer than medicine, sothere's got to be something to it. give it a shot, maybe it works for you.

meditation, i'm a big fan, i meditate everysingle day and it absolutely can help you manage your pain. go on to church and pray it helps, you knoweverything works so conservative treatment if you have one of these chronic disordersdon't be afraid of conservative treatment. find one that works well for you whether it'schiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture, cryotherapy, find something that helps inconjunction with seeing your specialist. alright, i hope that helps. if anyone out there is suffering from oneof these disorders, whether it's fibromyalgia, degenerative joint disease, lupus, thingslike that, i may be able to help.can't make

any guarantees but i've been doing this fora long time and it seems like everyone responds well to it and can gain a little bit of sanityback in their lives by functioning and feeling a little bit better. i hope that helps everyone, i know all thisweek we're going over chronic pain disorders and how i can help and our doctors at backpain relief center and how it may help you function and feel better. if you're down here in south carolina in myrtlebeach, you can reach me at https://myrtlebeachwalkinchiro.com if you're up in new jersey in vineland, it'sbackpainrc.com i hope all is well, it's beautiful day outthere, get out there and enjoy our last few
